Taken from all the attributes of film Noir from lighting up criminal entourage movie is a completely original story in the time of occurrence is closer to the canons of art-house rather than film Noir.

Judge for yourself: a couple of women for a story shred of internalnet, the absence(until the end of the film) murders, so not in London. Like Balzac's "Cesar of Biroco," the film is the mesmerizing story of the fall due to atomnogo set of circumstances in the filing of which Dassin shows amazing ingenuity.

The fight scene an amazing — nothing like in principle the movie is not have met(Pro Boxing and wrestling a lot done, and about the struggle - not in sports the key films not seen). Nowhere does't Widmark was so expressive and expressive and is usually preferred role ostateczna.

Recreating the atmosphere of harassment and pursuit of a hero, the reconstruction of facial features Dassin obviously focused on a masterpiece of lang. Original, powerful film that deserved a much less explosive remake with De Niro.

Exemplary Noir from the master of the genre Jules Dassin. Night London. The criminal world. Richard't Widmark and gene Tierney. The plot may be familiar remake of Irwin Winkler ' 92 with Bob De Niro. But forget the remake. Then the movie completely helpless and the only benefit from its existence can be to emphasize the perfection of the original. Actually, Dassin, along with Hitchcock, Nicholas ray and even a pair of triple great, did a MOVIE in its purest form. And this Noir is excellent proof.

A terrific speaker, well-written characters and the fundamental lack of happy end. The finale of the film is probably inspired by Godard on his final legendary debut ON the LAST BREATH. At least looked such thoughts may arise.

This is truly one of the references film Noir. Jules Dassin showed the real master class for all future generations. To know that is the real Noir. It focuses not the play of light and shadows (although all camera work right). The main thing in the tape — voltage which will be the audience for the duration of the film. Dassin not hides the viewer what Harry Fabian is not stands out for his integrity. But can not to empathize with him in constant attempts to rise to become an influential man.

In fact, we're seeing a kind of rebellion of a young person who does not want to accept imposed on him by society rules of the game and tries to impose their game. It is important that Fabian tries to achieve everything by making the minimum possible violations of the law. Of course forgery — this is bad, but after all, Fabian nor once, even in the most difficult situation, not will seriously discuss the killing of whom would any was. This nice contrast with the other characters in numerous films of this genre, ready on any crimes for the sake of profit. In fact, already this circumstance, as well as and the incredible ingenuity and determination, he is nice to me. And so the question of it the winner or loser — the thing appraised. For, as I suppose for club touts itself the fact of large games, and is a win. The present revolt of the spirit.

Besides worked way, all other aspects will be not less accurate. Gene Tierney will play a small but the important role of the main female character. Likely it is love of her shoving him all action, failure has predetermined a certain detachment from it. Stanislaus Zbyszko, a former wrestler, who played for the fact, the same role in a serious — great to the role of Presented. Well and a ten-minute scene of an unexpected fight between the two fighters — a true masterpiece. The more so good Greco-Roman matches I really in the movie yet met.

My impressions is simple: a masterpiece and one of the best paintings of 1950. Acting Richard Widmark, gene Tierney and Stanislaus Zbyszko seem to me to be one of the best in that year. The same thing can be said on the direction of Jules Dassin. It is not aesthetically striving for excellence Fritz lang, and live, rich and bubbling, full of surprises life, in which Dassin immerses the viewer. Besprizornymi here remain work, partners will become.
