Father Joe Dassin in as a Director. Dark, sucking, hopeless atmosphere. Star Noir Burt Lancaster in one of the main roles. A prison theme allows you to hook up with the final scale, the dynamic scene of action, with a lot of fights — typically, a film Noir still quite intimate.

This film, of course, had predecessors in the face of some crime dramas of the thirties, on many other it only as has had a noticeable impact. In General, the plot is based on the preparation of prisoners escape from prison, gives creators the perfect setting for heartbreaking stories of the collapse of the dream, the debacle of his hopes, the sweet cobwebs of illusions and that it pulls very different people to go to end very rash enterprise...

Sophisticated overseer, in full compliance with the name of the movie, uses brute force to all in a row, but not alien and other, perhaps in something is not less horrific and savage methods. He knows that it is not always necessary to order someone to kill. Suffice it to say some difficult but a vulnerable inmate that they wanted to divorce him — the hang Mansi surely one of the heralds of all such typecasting jailers of the famous films on the prison theme, though "the Green mile" or"Escape from the Shawshank". Range of images of the criminals too impressive. Somewhere marks the contours of the fugitive character strokes: the Squealer, smiley, soldier, or simply the man who, even at the cost of his life, holds in itself the remnants of human dignity. Hero Burt Lancaster delineate sharply, vividly, clearly. And of course, the respect is there a doctor who not only sees through Muncie, but and dare to tell him to face that much more of a monster than many of his charges.

The skeleton of the plot is also quite durable, and each new event illustrates the local disaster with a new perspective. With informers fierce, but a very short conversation. In same time is time for chats, the flashbacks about life in the will, the longing for women, even treacherous. Someone is trying to survive under the torture monster, someone who works on a drainage channel, and virtually no whom just not say, what elements in it is hidden and will come out if finally breaks out, among all these towers, trucks, trolleys and downpipes. Now, I must admit, the film is unlikely to someone may be specially frightening, because the audience is already familiar to a much more unappetizing, horrible, dreadful things. But here is one simple, right voiced here promises useful and now and better to master before please trap: brutality may creates winners, but it them destroys.

Perhaps the best prison film that I saw his life. Gorgeous screenwriter Richard Brooks instead of focusing on the notorious story with escape relies on the diverse, well written characters — and get this gorgeous. People, for various reasons, find themselves in a prison cell, filled with hope and dreaming one same — free, favorite women somewhere in the will, which for all of them represents a single poster with a woman's face hanging on the wall.

Strong in film the motives of postwar art — quite readable reference on fascism and his rise to power in the face of the characters of the prison Director and terrible jailer Mansi, which lies behind the explanation of that the weak must die for the strong to the mind, strength of spirit and so on, and so on. But really smart, humane doctor, seeing it through, shows that no mind, no strength — only force, brute force is behind these highly spiritual words.

Perhaps not wonder, though a bit of a stretch, the film on many sites listed Noir, all the inherent aesthetics here there is — and these harsh men, and, in fatal women somewhere in memory an atmosphere of distrust close to you like in management, so and in each prison cell, in the end, dark and devilishly handsome, crowning this dark, knocking the breath masterpiece.
